My name is Dax Davis, and my passion for fishing took root in childhood, thanks to many days spent on the water with my grandfather and uncle. Those early experiences taught me not just the basics of baiting a hook and casting a line, but also the value of patience, persistence, and respect for the outdoors. In 2002, I bought my first boat and started entering local tournaments, eventually expanding my horizons by traveling to various lakes across Texas.

It was around this time I discovered Lake Fork—and I was instantly hooked. From the moment I cast my first line here, I knew this was the ultimate bass fishing hotspot. Over the years, I’ve poured countless hours into learning every hidden gem, refining techniques that work best for these waters, and embracing every chance to expand my knowledge of seasonal patterns and local wildlife.

By 2017, my love for the lake led me to become a full-time resident, where I balanced part-time guiding with work at a local boat dealer—an experience that further immersed me in the region’s fishing community. Then, in 2023, an opportunity to purchase Burnin Stump Lodge came my way, opening the door for me to share my passion as a full-time guide. Now, I dedicate every day to helping anglers of all ages and skill levels get the most out of their Lake Fork adventure.
